Ola Torch has a wealth of previous experience putting together a variety of events, so here are 5 top tips to ensure your event goes along the right track!

#1 Before you set your event date, have a list of all you think is required to run the event.
This will allow you to review each aspect you have highlighted and draw a timeline up to the event date. Be sure to add some buffer time as things tend to overrun.

#2 Set your budget and stick to it as much as possible!
It is very easy to get lost in extravagant details, especially on big days such as weddings. However be realistic, it’s not wise to go bankrupt for one day or lose money for your business. Adding a buffer here too is strongly advised.

#3 Choose an appropriate venue.
This is important to ensure you cater to the needs of your guests. Consider whether any extra amenities are required such as a bar or wi-fi. It can make a big difference on the day.

#4 Have a specific timed schedule for the day.
Everyone who is a part of the day needs to be on the same page. If you are the main organiser you can’t be everywhere at once. All the team need to have something to work from. Allocated time is also important. It will help things to run much more smoothly.

#5 Get yourself a professional host!
I’m sure you knew that was coming. But in all seriousness, I have seen plenty of occasions where a family member or close friend has been used to “save money”. In some extreme bad cases the event was remembered for the wrong reasons. A professional is sure to keep your guests engaged and entertained with memories for the right reason.
